Product Description

Double flange triple offset butterfly valves are designed to meet various industrial requirements and applications. While specific configurations may vary by manufacturer, some common types include:

Metal-Seated Double Flange Triple Offset Butterfly Valve: This type of valve features metal-to-metal seating between the disc and the valve seat. It is suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure applications where tight shut-off and durability are critical.

Soft-Seated Double Flange Triple Offset Butterfly Valve: Soft-seated valves use resilient materials such as elastomers (e.g., EPDM) for the seat, providing a bubble-tight seal. They are suitable for applications where tight shut-off and bi-directional sealing are required.

The valve operates on a quarter-turn principle, where the disc rotates 90 degrees to control the flow of fluid through the pipeline.
When the valve is in the open position, the disc rotates parallel to the flow direction, allowing fluid to pass through with minimal resistance.
In the closed position, the disc rotates perpendicular to the flow direction, effectively blocking the flow of fluid through the valve.
 

Butterfly valves are quarter-turn valves that are best used for the stop/start of media flow in pipelines. When the valve handle is turned 90°, it either opens or closes completely. Throttling can be a bit tough, but these valves can still be used for regulating purposes.

Butterfly valves are usually installed in a fully open position. This is because installing the valve in its closed position can cause difficulties with the seat and seal positions.

Triple Offset: The term "triple offset" refers to the geometry of the valve's sealing mechanism. Unlike traditional butterfly valves, which have a concentric or single offset design, triple offset butterfly valves have three distinct offsets:

Shaft Offset: The valve shaft is positioned slightly off-center from the centerline of the valve body, reducing wear and friction during operation.
Disc Offset: The valve disc is also offset from the centerline of the valve body, which helps in achieving a tight seal and reducing friction.
Seat Offset: The valve seat is machined at an angle to the centerline of the valve body, allowing for a non-rubbing, interference-free sealing contact between the disc and the seat. This design minimizes wear and improves sealing performance, especially in high-pressure and high-temperature applications.
