How dose valve work?

Pneumatic ball valves operate on a simple yet efficient mechanism, using compressed air to control flow in industrial pipelines.At their core is a spherical ball with a through-hole (bore) housed in a durable valve body, connected to a pneumatic actuator via a stem.

The actuator—powered by compressed air—drives rotational movement (90 degrees) of the stem and ball. When air is supplied to one side of the actuator, it rotates the ball to align the bore with the pipeline, opening the valve and allowing media (liquids, gases, or slurries) to flow through unobstructed.

To close the valve, air is redirected to the opposite side of the actuator, rotating the ball 90 degrees to position the solid part of the sphere against the valve seats. Precision-machined seats (PTFE or metal-to-metal) form a bubble-tight seal, stopping flow completely.

Many models include a spring return feature: if air supply fails, the spring resets the valve to a pre-set position (open or closed) for safety.
