How does valve work?

A PVDF/PPH/PPN/FRPP butterfly valve operates on a simple 90° rotary mechanism, tailored for corrosive fluid handling with its thermoplastic construction. Its core components include a lightweight valve body made from PVDF, PPH, PPN, or FRPP, a matching thermoplastic disc mounted on a corrosion-resistant shaft, and a soft EPDM or PTFE sealing seat—all engineered to resist harsh chemicals, acids, and alkalis.

When actuated (manually, pneumatically, or electrically), the shaft rotates the disc to control flow. In the fully open position, the disc aligns parallel to the pipeline, creating an unobstructed path that minimizes pressure drop for liquids, gases, or mild slurries. For throttling, partial rotation adjusts the disc's angle relative to the flow, precisely modulating the passage area to regulate flow rate.

To shut off flow completely, the actuator rotates the disc 90° to sit perpendicular to the pipeline. The disc's edge presses firmly against the soft seal, forming a bubble-tight barrier that prevents leakage.
